What do the Hebrew Scriptures Say About Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel Chapter 9 verses 25-26 ___________________________________________________ Therefore, to know when the Messiah would come, we simply need to do the math according to what Daniel tells us is “seven weeks and threescore and tow weeks,” or 69 weeks. Looking back in history we can also see that there has only been one time after the Babylonian captivity at which the temple in Jerusalem and Jerusalem itself was destroyed – 70 A.D. The Messiah MUST have therefore come before 70 A.D. Click here to read a thorough analysis of Daniel’s prophecy, including the math.
