Why? Know MessiahWhat Shall He Do?When will He Come? How will we Know Him?Is He just a man?If not Yeshua then Who?Is Yeshua for the Jews?

What do the Hebrew Scriptures Say About
What the Messiah Shall Do?

But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.   Isaiah Chapter 53 verses 4-5

The Hebrew prophet Isaiah wrote that the Messiah would be “crushed” for our iniquities, that is, our sins.   He would heal us by His suffering.    All of our sins would fall on the Messiah. Notice that the prophet Isaiah describes that the Messiah must suffer terribly, and be a substitutionary atonement for "our" sins. "Our" is the people of the prophet Isaiah, the people of Israel. Therefore, Israel itself cannot be the one that the passage is speaking about.

Ask yourself, Why isn't this passage read as part of the parasha? Why is it skipped over?
